Episode 170: Being Black in Medicine w/ Dr. Russell Ledet

For today’s episode, Tyrell and Daphne welcome Dr. Russell Ledet, an MD-MBA candidate at Tulane University who also earned his Ph.D. in molecular oncology at New York University. During the conversation, they discuss his journey to becoming double Dr. Ledet (25:42 ), myths and misconceptions about being Black in medicine (32:40), and what it means to be true to yourself in professional settings (38:32). They also have a conversation about Dr. Ledet’s motivation for founding 15 White Coats and his effort to increase access to medical education (42:37).
